Purpose
The study is descriptive and examines the knowledge that child carers obtain through their education on the upbringing of socially marginalised children.
Result
The study points out the need to strengthen the pedagogical staff’s knowledge about socially marginalised children. This applies to both the knowledge they receive through their initial training, and the knowledge they acquire while exercising their profession.
Design
The study has the characteristics of a survey. Focus group interviews were conducted and questionnaires were given to 168 student child carers, of whom two-thirds responded.
