Purpose
This study examines how a work team at daycare centres is designed and implemented in the educational practice and how working conditions affect this process.
It examines what the teams do and how they relate to their work. Furthermore, the study focuses is on how the work team at daycare centres perceive changes in the financial situation, organisation and curriculum in the implementation of pedagogical practice at daycare centres, as well as other working conditions that affect the design and execution of the pedagogical practice.
Result
The study shows that daily routines define and limit the practice at daycare centres. Work focuses on care. The extent of children's influence varies: firstly, depending on the content of the activities and secondly, depending on the socio-economic background of the children. It is concluded that changes in the framework conditions have resulted in new tasks for daycare centres and have reduced the level of resources at daycare centres.
Design
The study is an ethnographic study. The materials used are interviews and observations conducted at three daycare centres. Moreover, document analysis of local target documents has been carried out.
