Purpose
The purpose of this study is to examine and develop storytelling as part of the practice in kindergartens and schools. This is development work in which kindergartens and schools collaborate.
Result
The study describes the role of storytelling in different situations with children of different ages, different group formations and at various centres and in the various project processes under the overall project. The most significant results include that project participants - child carers and teachers - have linked new competencies to storytelling. The participants have learned a lot, not only about the role of storytelling in their work with children, but also about how to create projects.
Design
The study is designed as a views study. The study concerns storytelling as a methodology in kindergarten and during the early school years. The study is based on a project that ran from 2003 to 2007. Between 10 and 17 resource groups participated in the project.
